Eagle Update: The idle is WAY high in park or neutral and it’s running lava hot. But it lives!!!! Stuff is a little precariously hooked up and dangly but I put it in gear and confirmed it can move. It’s happening! Gotta get some cables made up and figure out my neutral safety switch which I entirely bypassed (which I think is leading to the rocket powered idling) and then maybe, just maybe I can roll it around the block. Ready for winter perhaps? 4WD burnouts perhaps? All of the above while rocking the sweet tape deck? Fingers crossed.

Awesome!
Do you have any vacuum leaks?

T ypically the NSS circuit just just locks out the starter, a hig h idle is probably unrelated.

Yeah. Normally. The instructions do mention something about the new computer using for something to do with drive vs idle though. And given I’ve got the NSS jumpered out and the plug is totally disconnected I just gave it a NSS based off the bottom connector on the solenoid which is just looped to ground. Was enough to crank it over for now. So it may be related. The instructions also mentioned a very high idle may be normal for a while.

Possibly. But probably not too likely. Currently none of the accessories are linked into the vac system at all. So only the brake booster and the new kit hardware is tied in. The 4WD and the cruise are not plumbed in yet. And the old snake pit of the original vac hardware is ALL ripped out as the new kit axes all the old emissions and carburetor stuff. It also idles quite nice once put into drive. So seems to be a while in park or neutral scenario.
